COMFORT CONNECTIONS
BE THE PROTAGONIST IN YOUR OWN LIFE!
When I was growing up, you could always find me watching some sort of superhero movie. While there continues to be an ongoing debate about whether Marvel or DC created the best superheroes, I didn’t care about that as a kid. I was just happy to watch the protagonist take part in the battle between good and evil! And today, I’m still fascinated by the stories these films tell. Although they often take place in a futuristic world and the superheroes and villains have technology that we could only dream of getting our hands on, these films never fail to offer us something we can relate back to our own lives. As a boy, I never could have grasped how these characters and their stories could help me in my own life — I was just amazed by the action scenes and by seeing the superhero emerge victorious. But as I rewatch these movies (or see the newer ones for the first time) and pay attention to the underlying messages, I quickly realize that these films
who recently experienced or is currently experiencing hardships — maybe they had a difficult upbringing or endured a traumatic situation. Then, you watch them as they come to terms with their past so they can win whatever battle they are currently fighting — like preventing world domination by an evil superpower. That narrative is something we can all relate to. We’re all dealing with our own battles and hardships, and sometimes the pressure these situations put on us may seem too hard to bear. However, it’s times like these that enable us to see how strong we really are. Superheroes teach us how important it is to persevere — especially when times are tough. They show us that if you believe in yourself (and rely on the assistance offered to you by the trustiest of sidekicks), you can do anything you set your mind to. We all have a superpower — while it may not be flying, mind reading, or supersonic speed, we all have something to give the world. Your superpower may be caring for everyone who crosses your path. Or maybe it’s to assist people and help them gain confidence or independence. No matter what stage of life you’re in, you have a
encourage us, to the extent that we are able, to be superheroes in our own lives and the lives of others.
Now, while we may not get bitten by a spider and develop incredible senses like Spider-Man, or be able to fly across the sky like Superman, or have fancy gadgets like Batman, there is one trait these superheroes exhibit that we can implement in our daily lives: perseverance. If you think about any superhero movie, although the characters and storylines may differ, the foundation of what creates a superhero remains the same. You start with a protagonist
superpower that enables you to overcome your daily obstacles and help others overcome theirs.
So, release your inner superhero and become the protagonist in your own life!

THE BEST WAY TO CELEBRATE MYSTERY MONTH
Did you know May is Mystery Month? There are dozens of ways to celebrate this enigmatic occasion, from playing Clue to rewatching Glass Onion — but why not bring those experiences to life and host your own murder mystery dinner at home? Thanks to a plethora of kits on the market, doing so is easier than ever! What is a murder mystery dinner? A murder mystery dinner is essentially a real-life game of Clue. You invite friends over for dinner and turn your home into the set of Knives Out — without the blood, of course. Each of your friends takes on the persona of a character in the story, and when one of them is “murdered,” you compete to uncover who dunnit.
If your friends and family don’t like the idea of acting and dressing up, that’s okay — you can still solve a mystery over dinner! Look into kits

available through Unsolved Case Files ( UnsolvedCaseFiles.com ) or Hunt A Killer ( Shop.HuntAKiller.com ), which involve collaborative mystery-solving
without the character work.
Step 2: Curate your guest list. Most murder mystery dinners require at least four people, while some include characters for six, eight, or more! Check the number of players on your kit and invite your most creative, analytical, theatrical, and mystery-loving friends. Step 3: Decorate and plan the menu. If you choose a themed murder mystery, level up your event with a matching menu and decor! For games taking place in England, whip up a shepherd's pie and make a cardboard cutout of Big Ben. For Havana Nights, plan a build-your-own Cubano bar and throw on an Afro-Cuban playlist. You can be as over-the-top as you like. Remember, it’s Mystery Month! So celebrate in style!
Step 1: Pick your kit. Planning a murder mystery dinner from scratch would take the ingenuity of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Luckily, you have several ready-made mysteries to choose from! You can find boxes from Masters of Mystery and My Mystery Party at your local board game store, but you can find many options available online, too. Night of Mystery (NightOfMystery.com), for example, sells both in-person and virtual kits with themes ranging from ‘80s prom to Christmas homicide.
We’re fortunate to have amazing and knowledgeable technicians on our team, and we wanted to provide you with a platform where you could ask them questions and learn from them. So we decided to create Tech Talk, where we sit down with one of our techs and ask them your burning HVAC questions! For our first installment, we chatted with Eric, one of our service professionals, and asked him for some advice. Q: If my system isn't working, what can I try before I call? A: If nothing happens when you turn the unit on, make sure the breaker isn't tripped. Check the emergency switch at the air handler (it might be in the basement, up in the attic, or at the furnace). Also, for the AC to come on, the thermostat should be set TECH TALK Eric Answers A Few FAQs!

and where the equipment is. And, of course, the more you can tell us about what's happening with your system and what you've been observing, the better. Additionally, while we all like pets, if you have a pet that only likes familiar faces, it would be great if you could put them someplace where we'll be least likely to upset them. Get to know Eric! Eric has always enjoyed fixing things, so he knew he wanted to work with his hands. He considered various trades but figured people would always need heating and air conditioning, so he gave it a shot. We're so glad he did! Eric likes HVAC for those critical-thinking moments and because every day is different. If it's one thing he hates, it's routines! Do you have a question you would like one of our technicians to answer? Please email it to us at AireServMHV@gmail.com. We’d love to hear from you and answer your questions!
If the unit comes on but isn't blowing cold air, have you changed the air filter recently? Is it clean? Be sure the vents are open in all the rooms and, if you have a cover for the outdoor unit, that it’s uncovered. Q: Can I reduce the amount of dust and debris my filter collects? A: If you’re seeing a lot of dirt on the filter, it could be that you need to change it more frequently. If you have pets, their hair will definitely add to what the filter will collect. Q: How should I prepare for a tech to come by? A: Make sure there's a clear path to get to the equipment — a few feet around the unit is usually enough room. could be damaged or destroyed. One of the best ways to prevent this is by adding a surge protector to mitigate damage from power surges, thereby protecting and prolonging the life of your system. Conduct regular maintenance. If your HVAC unit is poorly maintained, it’s more susceptible to damage during storms. For example, suppose the outdoor unit is already clogged with dirt or choked by vegetation. The airflow is already compromised, so additional debris from a sudden storm could further restrict airflow. If this doesn’t cause it to fail right away, it could put additional strain on the components and increase the likelihood of further damage in the near future. Therefore, it’s vital to perform regular maintenance on your system not only to ensure everything is working correctly but also to give it a better chance to withstand whatever a summer storm might throw its way. If you want to be sure your system is summer-storm ready, please allow us at Aire Serv of the Mid-Hudson Valley to assist you in getting those protective measures in place before summer storms arrive.
As you listen to TV meteorologists’ warnings about impending summer storms, you might prepare by stocking up on water and nonperishables. You may even have a hurricane kit with flashlights, radios, batteries, and more. But just as you prepare yourself and your family for a severe storm, don’t forget to prepare your HVAC system as well! When readying your HVAC system for thunderstorms, hurricanes, and other harsh weather conditions, consider doing these four things. Remove loose objects from your yard. We’ve all heard stories and seen debris and other items scattered across front lawns after severe weather passes through. Those objects in your yard can damage cars, windows, and porches, but they can also damage HVAC systems! As a precaution, it’s always a good idea
SALMON CROQUETTES WITH DILL SAUCE furniture, bikes, potted plants, and other items that are likely to become projectiles in a strong wind gust. Purchase an air conditioner cover. Most people think of using air conditioner covers during the winter, but you can also use them to protect your system during rainstorms, high winds, and hail. If you choose to use a cover to protect your outdoor unit, remember that you can’t use your AC while the cover is on. So, cover the outdoor unit securely before the storm arrives, and remove the cover promptly afterward. Inspect the unit for any storm damage that may have occurred from branches or other debris before switching the unit back on to resume cooling your home. Buy a surge protector. If lightning strikes your home, or even nearby, it can damage your electrical system. If this happens, your HVAC system, appliances, and other electrical equipment

3 HOTELS TO VISIT FOR A GREAT NIGHT’S SLEEP
If you've ever planned a vacation, you’ve probably picked a few key places to visit, like a museum, restaurant, or historic site. However, a new vacation trend is becoming increasingly popular: sleep tourism, where a traveler plans their entire vacation to get the best quality sleep during their time away. Before, common goals for vacations were to eat delicious foods, stay up late to see the sights, and fit in as much activity as possible. However, this left travelers completely exhausted. And as our culture continues to understand how important sleep is to our health, more people are prioritizing rest even while they’re away. But being a sleep tourist is about more than going to bed early and ensuring you get your recommended eight hours of rest. It's about building your vacation around sleep. Some hotels even offer
So, if sleep tourism sounds like something you'd be interested in, here are three hotels that help you catch those z's.
Park Hyatt New York (NYC): This hotel features a "Sleep Suite" designed by Bryte, a company that uses AI to facilitate sleep. The room touts an intuitive "Restorative Bed," which adjusts to relieve pressure points and controls climate temperature throughout the night, according to each person’s needs. This suite also includes an array of soothing essential oils, a diffuser, and books about sleep. The Cadogan, a Belmond Hotel (London): This hotel offers a "sleep concierge," which boasts prerecorded sleep meditations and a pillow selection menu for every type of sleeper. Sleepers can even benefit from the hotel’s weighted blankets, scented pillow mist service, and their proprietary sleep tea.
Zedwell (London): The first ever "sleep-centric" hotel, Zedwell uses recycled materials to insulate every door, wall, and floor from sound. This hotel also purifies the air within the hotel and fills every space with ambient lighting.
