Port Sunlight Houses © Port Sunlight Village Trust Sunlight & Gardens of Cheshire This updated tour showcases Chester and Cheshire both on foot and water along with visits to Ness Botanic Gardens, Cholmondeley Castle Gardens and the unique village of Port Sunlight, founded in 1888 by William Hesketh Lever, the ‘Soap King’. PACKAGED ITINERARY Day 1 Arrival We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner. Day 2 Chester & River Cruise We spend this morning at leisure in the city of Chester. In the afternoon, we head to the River Dee for a boat trip , taking in the scenery & views of the city from the water. Day 3 Nantwich & Cholmondeley Castle Gardens We spend this morning in the delightful medieval market town of Nantwich. Famed for its timbered buildings. In the afternoon we visit Cholmondeley Castle Gardens where we enjoy a guided tour with the Head Gardener . The gardens include Lavinia Walk, ornamental woodland, an Arboretum and Temple and Folly Water Gardens. Day 4 Port Sunlight & Ness Botanic Gardens We start our day in the unique Wirral village, Port Sunlight , which was built by Lever Brothers (now Unilever) in 1888 to house workers in its soap factory. We visit the Port Sunlight Museum, step inside a recreated worker’s cottage and enjoy the new interactive family experience, SoapWorks. In the afternoon, we visit Ness Botanic Gardens . This stunning garden showcases more than 15,000 plants from all over the world. Day 5 Departure After breakfast, we make our way home.

This new tour is all about knowledge as we put ourselves in the hands of experts at the zoo and in Chester for a unique guided visit that will truly bring history to life. PACKAGED ITINERARY Day 1 Arrival We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner. Day 2 Chester Zoo Today we visit Chester Zoo , home to 35,000 animals and 128 acres of zoological gardens. We begin our visit with a 1 hour guided tour as the zoo’s knowledgeable Safari Rangers provide us with facts about the various species. We enjoy free time to explore at leisure. From frogs and penguins to chameleons and elephants – and all sorts in between – we discover amphibians, birds, reptiles and mammals. Day 3 Chester This morning, for a quite unique experience, we have a guided walking tour of Chester from a Roman soldier . Our guide, dressed in full Roman uniform, will bring Roman Chester to life as we voyage back in time to understand 2000 years of history through detailed and fascinating delivery, showcasing the cities highlights. In the afternoon we free time to explore Chester at our own pace, be it a wander around the shops or finding a quiet café for some refreshment. Day 4 Departure After breakfast, we make our way home.
