See spectacular historic houses and colourful gardens in magnificent settings and enjoy visits to the pretty harbour port of Bridlington and much- loved coastal resort of Scarborough. Steeped in history, we learn more of the region’s fascinating heritage as we enjoy its scenic and lovely landscapes. PACKAGED ITINERARY Day 1 Arrival We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner. Day 2 Sewerby Hall and Gardens & Bridlington This morning, we relive history with a visit to Sewerby Hall and Gardens , a delightful Grade I house in a spectacular clifftop setting. A mix of stunning Georgian and Edwardian architectural design, we can admire impressive artefacts from the V & A museum before taking a stroll through beautiful and elegantly designed gardens. In the afternoon we have free time to explore the popular seaside town of Bridlington. See fishermen busy at work on traditional fishing boats at the picturesque harbour side or stroll through the charming narrow streets of the historic Old Town with local galleries, antique shops and cafes. Day 3 Scarborough & fish ‘n’ chips on the North Bay Railway This morning, we visit the Yorkshire Coast’s impressive town of Scarborough with free time to explore its bustling streets lined with shops, eateries, museums and galleries. Relive history and hop on the Victorian Central Tramway funicular, which links the town centre with South Bay and its harbour and promenade. Enjoy the views over the sweeping bay and treat yourself to an ice cream. This afternoon we enjoy an invigorating return journey on the Scarborough North Bay Railway from Peasholm Station to Scalby Mills and are treated to fish ‘n’ chips at the station. Day 4 Burnby Hall Gardens & Beverley Today we head to Pocklington for a visit to Burnby Hall Gardens often referred to as “a jewel in Yorkshire’s crown”, home to a national collection of over 80 water lilies, across both upper and lower lakes. The walled garden project was completed here in 2022. We have time afterwards in Pocklington itself, a delightful town with two art galleries, an acclaimed arts centre and a host of independent shops. On our way back to our hotel, we stop off in Beverley for the afternoon. A traditional thriving town with a 13th century minster standing tall above the rooftops we find a bustling marketplace, boutique shops and historic pubs which are sure to make for a lovely afternoon. Day 5 Departure After breakfast, we begin our journey home.
