Mountains of Fun in Kilkenny & Dublin Staying at the popular Treacys Enniscorthy Hotel, this tour is full of spectacular scenery and rich history. We cruise along the River Barrow, spend a day in Dublin and discover the history of Ireland’s oldest ale in Kilkenny & the emigrant famine experience on the Dunbrody Famine Ship. SUGGESTED ITINERARY Day 1 Arrival We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner. Day 2 Barrow River Cruise & Dunbrody Famine Ship Today we head to New Ross where we enjoy a 90 minute, round trip, river cruise on the River Barrow to Waterford City. Take in the panoramic views while pondering the history of the river on this unique trip. On our return to New Ross we enjoy some free time to explore this historic port town before we head to visit the Dunbrody Famine Ship in the afternoon. Here costumed performers provide a world-class interpretation of the famine emigrant experience, providing a unique insight into the bravery and fortitude of the Irish people. Day 3 Dublin We spend today at leisure in the vibrant city of Dublin, home to many famous attractions. Visit the famous Guinness Storehouse, historic Dublin Castle, take a cruise on the River Liffey or simply enjoy a spot of shopping before relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere in the famous Temple Bar pub, the authentic home of Irish music, the largest selection of whiskies in Ireland and the pub with the largest selection of sandwiches in the world! Day 4 Kilkenny & Smithwick’s Experience We spend our morning at leisure in the city of Kilkenny where attractions include Kilkenny Castle and the Kilkenny Design Centre, home to some of Ireland’s best craft shopping. After free time for lunch we visit the Smithwick’s Experience. We learn about the history of Ireland’s oldest ale, brewed since 1710, and stroll through the centuries on our interactive tour followed, of course, by a tasting! Day 5 Departure After breakfast, we make our way home.
