Built in 1863, ‘The Grand Old Duke’ springs to mind for this striking hotel with its beautiful Victorian gothic architecture. The Duke of Cornwall is ideally located on the fringe of Plymouth’s vibrant city centre, just a short stroll from Plymouth Hoe promenade and its beautiful ocean views, and combines historical features such as the Grade II listed staircase with sympathetic modernisations. spectacular Isles of Scilly. PACKAGED ITINERARY Day 1 Arrival We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner. Day 2 Historic Plymouth and the Mayflower Museum

Spend a full day discovering the beautiful waterfront city of Plymouth from its vibrant centre to the historic Barbican, Sutton Port and centuries’ old seafaring heritage. An included one-hour harbour cruise is a wonderful way to see the spectacular sights including Plymouth Hoe, Drakes Island and Mount Edgcumbe. Also included is a visit to the Mayflower Museum which charts the Pilgrims’ voyage aboard the Mayflower to the New World. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure to enjoy the city’s attractions including the Plymouth Gin Distillery established in 1793. Day 3 Tamar Valley and Tavistock This morning enjoy a relaxing train ride through the picturesque Tamar Valley from Plymouth to Gunnislake passing through rolling countryside. The highlight is the Calstock Viaduct with views of the valley and the river 120 feet below. Reboard the coach at Gunnislake and travel to the Dartmoor market town of Tavistock. Home of the cream tea, the town has a wide range of craft shops, art galleries and museums to interest all visitors. For our return journey, enjoy a scenic drive across the open moorlands of the Dartmoor National Park. Day 4 Looe and Falmouth We start the day with a morning visit to the picturesque fishing harbour of Looe. The coastal town is famous for its pretty harbour front and daily fish catch, wide sandy beaches, Victorian bridge and cobbled streets lined with unique shops and cafes. Travelling further south this afternoon, we will head to the harbour port town of Falmouth. Spend free time exploring before checking into our hotel for dinner. Attractions include the Maritime Museum, Falmouth Art Gallery, the impressive Pendennis Castle and Gyllyngdune Gardens. Day 5 Isles of Scilly With an early morning departure, we travel to Penzance to board the Scillonian Ferry to St Mary’s, the largest of the Isles of Scilly. We have free time to explore the island’s distinctive landscape of sub-tropical plants, white sandy beaches overlooking beautiful turquoise seas and unique towns. Hugh Town is the main hub with shops, churches, cafes, galleries, restaurants and pubs.The Town Beach is the perfect spot to sit and watch life on the Quay before we return to Penzance via the ferry and back to our hotel. (Please note that this day may require an early departure and later return to the hotel than usual depending upon ferry timetable on the exact day). Day 6 Departure After breakfast, we make our way home.

Set in a beautiful location on the cliff top overlooking the sea, the traditional, grand Victorian Falmouth Hotel is just a short, easy 10 minute walk to the town centre and beach and is ideally located for visits to nearby attractions.
