home crowd. And the home team sent their fans home happy. Joshua Penney and Mathis Baril each scored twice to lead the Nationals to a 5-2 win for Navan. Gabriel Le Houillier tallied the other Rockland goal. Baril and Penney were named the game’s first and second star. Road win against Kemptville Fresh off a home win against Navan, the Nationals travelled to Kemptville the following night on Saturday Sept. 21 to take on the 73’s. Rockland was looking to start the season 2-0. After Kemptville struck first early in the first, it was all Rockland after that. The Nationals scored six unanswered goals and cruised to a 6-1 and improving their record to 2-0-0-0 for the season. Alex Kelloway (the game’s first star) led the way with two goals, while Le Houillier, Baril, Mavrick Brunet, Noah Laframboise and Dylan Allie all scored in the win. Three of Rockland’s six goals came with the man advantage. This year’s leadership group The Junior A hockey team announced its leadership group for the season just before the campaign began. Mathys Laurent has been named captain while Penney, Kelloway, Le Houillier and Laframboise were all named assistant captains. Up next The Nats will look to make it three straight wins when they host the Carleton Place Canadians at home on Friday, Sept. 26.
