Request an appointment at our office today and learn how we can help you live a happier and healthier life no matter your age! Aging with prosthetics. Getting older affects everyone physically, whether or not they have had an amputation. Just like we are taught to eat healthy, exercise, and sleep, amputees can be proactive and take preventive steps to ensure a properly fitting prosthetic. Whether you are a new amputee or have been dealing with a prosthetic for decades, learning to find the best prosthetic for your needs can be confusing and frustrating. Fortunately, at Howard Orthotics & Prosthetics, our CPOs understand the importance of resuming and maintaining the activities you enjoy for your overall well-being. Surveys have shown that younger amputees deal with their amputation differently than older amputees. For example, older amputees are more likely to be happy with the fit and functionality of their prosthetics. Youth often comes with more vigorous activities and more demands from the prosthetic.
