D rugi po veličini grad u Hrvatskoj u letnjim me- secima postaje jedan od glavnih centara među- narodne vreve, ali u njemu se cele godine mo- žete sjajno provesti. Čak i kad kupanje više nije opcija. U Splitu se nalaze rimske građevine od kojih je najimpre- sivnija Dioklecijanova palata, jedna od najpoznatijih arhitek- tonskih građevina na hrvatskoj obali. Dioklecijan se smatra osnivačem Splita i nastanak grada se vezuje za izgradnju nje- gove palate. Kafu zatim možete da popijete na rivi, najpopularnijem mestu u gradu, pa da se vratite nazad do Katedrale Sv. Duje, koja se smatra najstarijom na svetu. U Splitu se organizuju i mnogobrojni kulturni događaji poput filmskih i pozorišnih festivala, a tu je i nekoliko zanimljivih muzeja. Muzej Ivana Meštrovića nalazi se u jednom od najlepših delova Splita, na šetalištu koje nosi njegovo ime. Splićani su čak otvorili muzej posvećen seriji „Igra prestola“ koja se i ovde snimala (ne, nije samo u Dubrovniku). Nalazi se pored ulice u kojoj su se odi- gravale scene serijala, nedaleko od Dioklecijanovih podruma.

Split is home to the remains of Roman structures, the most impressive of which is Diocletian’s Palace, one of the most fa- mous architectural wonders on the Croatian coast. Diocle- tian is considered the founder of Split, with the city’s origins linked to the construction of his palace. Next up, you can sip coffee in the city’s most popular place - the Split Riva promenade, then head back to the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, considered the world’s oldest Catholic ca- thedral. Split hosts numerous cultural events, including film and theatre festivals, while it is also home to several interest- ing museums. Ivan Meštrović Gallery is located in one of the most beautiful parts of Split, on the promenade that’s named after this renowned sculptor. Split residents have even opened a museum dedicated to TV series Game of Thrones, which was filmed in the city (and not only in Dubrovnik). The museum is located alongside the street where scenes were shot for the se- ries, close to the Cellars of Diocletian’s Palace.
