T he Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade is showing the works of prominent contemporary artist Dragan Jelen- ković, who has spent decades exploring boundaries between images, objects and space. The exhibition, entitled Arithmology of Form, remains on display at Belgrade’s Gallery-legacy of Mil- ica Zorić & Rodoljub Čolaković until 3 rd November. Jelenković belongs to a generation of artists who champi- oned significant changes in the artistic and semantic expansion of the medium of sculpture that began during the 1980s, bring- ing greater complexity to the image of stylistically heterogene- ous and highly individualised sculptural poetics. This exhibition presents a curated selection of works from the artist’s oeuvre, as well as his latest pieces in which Jelenković thematises and explores the phenomenon of redefining form in the context of the current global juncture, including new ways of communi- cating, relations towards nature, the dictates of an overabun- dance of information and the predominance of digital images.
