SUGGESTED ITINERARY Day 1 Embark in Bordeaux - Cussac-Fort-Médoc We arrive in Bordeaux & board our ship at 18.00, before cruising to Cussac-Fort-Médoc. Day 2 Cussac-Fort-Médoc - Royan This morning, our optional excursion spotlights the world-famous vineyards of France’s Médoc region. Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and Gironde estuary, this picturesque area produces prestigious reds like Saint-Julien and Haut-Médoc. Following its celebrated wine route, we taste some illustrious wines and glimpse iconic Grand Cru estates including Château Lafite Rothschild, Château Latour and Château Mouton Rothschild. Alternatively, enjoy an optional panoramic tour and free time in the seaside city of Royan. There is dinner and dancing on board this evening. Day 3 Royan Today, an optional tour takes us to Rochefort, a 17th-century port on the River Charente. This lovely city boasts handsome naval houses and the Corderie Royale rope- making factory built in 1666. We tour the main building and discover the rope-making techniques used here before continuing to 1,000-year-old La Rochelle, on the Bay of Biscay. Our guided tour reveals its half-timbered old town before providing free time to stroll independently. Later, we cruise the Dordogne toward Libourne. Day 4 Libourne/Bourg - Bordeaux Our optional excursion today heads to the pretty medieval town of Saint-Émilion, where we discover its Roman roots and 12th-century monolithic church. Afterward, we visit a vineyard to learn how local wines are produced before sampling regional produce. We spend the afternoon cruising to Bordeaux. Day 5 Bordeaux - Cadillac Today we cruise the Garonne to Cadillac, where an optional excursion takes us to the fairy-tale-like Château de Roquetaillade. Next, we visit a wine cellar to taste Sauternes wine before enjoying a guided tour of walled, 13th-century Cadillac. We cruise back to Bordeaux this afternoon before our gala evening tonight. Day 6 Bordeaux This morning, our optional tour leaves for Chartrons, Bordeaux’s historic wine merchants’ quarter, where we visit the Wine and Commerce Museum and enjoy a wine tasting. Then, this afternoon, we enjoy free time to explore Bordeaux. Alternatively, consider our optional full-day excursion to Arcachon, which includes a Bassin d’Arcachon boat trip. There is entertainment on board this evening. Day 7 Disembark in Bordeaux After breakfast, we disembark at 09.00 and make our way home.
