Montmartre
A Champagne Vineyard Sparkling Weekend in Champagne The city of Reims has a special place in the history of France, and not just as the home of Champagne, although this is obviously their most famous export! We will experience everything the region of Champagne has to offer visiting two of the most famous cellars known around the world. We will also spend time in Epernay, home to some of the finest Champagne houses in the world. The Avenue du Champagne is often referred to as the most expensive avenue in the world, due to the amount of Champagne stored beneath it in cellars, running for many kilometres! PACKAGED ITINERARY Day 1 Arrival We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner. Day 2 Reims Guided City Tour & Champagne Mumm We start the day in Reims where we are joined by a local tour guide for a guided walking tour of the city. The highlight attraction is the Notre-Dame Cathedral, bigger than its more famous namesake in Paris, and home to where the Kings of France were crowned for over 1,000 years. After time for lunch, we enjoy a visit to Champagne Mumm where a guided tour will trail through its cellars explaining how they make and store their Champagne. We will enjoy a tasting before returning to the hotel. Day 3 Champagne Route, Epernay & Champagne Mercier Today we follow the ‘Champagne Route’ as we head out of Reims towards Epernay. We will have a short stop in Hautvillers, a village famous as being the birthplace of Dom Perignon, before enjoying some free time in Epernay with time for lunch. In the afternoon we will visit the Avenue du Champagne, lined with impressive Champagne houses such as Moet & Chandon and Champagne Mercier. We will enjoy a guided tour of Champagne Mercier by a train through their cellars followed by a tasting. Day 4 Departure After breakfast, we make our way home.

Opened in 1990, it takes less than 2 minutes, saving us precious time! We have the chance to admire this striking Basillica before finding a nice spot for a leisurely lunch.
