ESSAY WRITING Bede’s Essay Writing Academy teaches more than grammar and spelling. Students learn key writing structures for specific genres, and how to organise their ideas as well as the language needed to present and support those ideas in a logical and engaging way. PUBLIC SPEAKING Bede’s Public Speaking Academy offers students the opportunity to improve their confidence to speak in front of an audience. Through guided preparation, the use of appropriate language and plenty of pronunciation practice, students learn how to convey their ideas effectively. MASTERCHEF Bede’s Masterchef Academy is designed for students who have a passion for food and who enjoy cooking. The classes are fun and informative, giving students the confidence to be hands-on with raw produce and kitchen equipment. In each session, students create a savoury and sweet dish inspired by different international cuisines. POTTERY & CERAMICS Bede’s Pottery & Ceramics Academy offers students the opportunity to indulge in art whilst creating pottery and ceramics to convey their ideas through unique creations. Students will learn to mould, fire, and glaze clay to create intricate pottery pieces, including the use of a pottery wheel. They will also enhance their language skills by mastering the terminology of this ancient craft.
CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING Bede’s Clay Pigeon Shooting Academy gives students the opportunity to learn shooting technique in a safe and controlled environment, with qualified instructors. The first lesson includes a safety briefing on how to handle a gun correctly and in a safe manner. The lessons then focus on learning and improving technique for hitting a moving target with accuracy and consistency. FLYING Bede’s Flying Academy offers students an opportunity to pilot an aircraft. Students will have a trained pilot in attendance for the 45-minute flight ensuring that they are able to take control of the aircraft should they need to. The main goal of this academy is to help students gain an understanding of how to pilot an aircraft and can help them with future flying lessons. GOLF Bede’s Golf Academy is for students wishing to improve their golf technique supported by a professional instructor. The lessons will focus on developing the student’s skills and knowledge of the game, practising and analysing the mechanics of the golf swing. Students will also broaden their vocabulary specifically relating to golf. HORSE RIDING Students on the Bede’s Horse Riding Academy will have a riding lesson and rides in the local countryside, under close supervision. The instructors are experienced in teaching young children for whom this may be their first time on a horse as well as catering for more advanced riders. Students also have the opportunity to learn about caring for horses, grooming and stable management after their rides. Student height, weight, and experience level are required for this academy.
INDOOR CLIMBING Bede’s Indoor Climbing Academy enables students to develop strength,agility, and problem-solving skills through rock climbing in a safe indoor environment. With expert instructors guiding them, students will learn climbing techniques, safety protocols, and how to conquer challenging routes. Whether for fun or competitive interest, this academy provides a supportive space for young climbers to grow and push their limits. PADEL
Brand New for 2026, we are excited to introduce our Padel Academy! Our
programme is designed for ambitious young players aged 12–17 who want to elevate their game. We focus on expert coaching, tailored training plans, and competitive match play to help you develop both on and off the court. SAILING Bede’s Summer School offers a Sailing Academy for students looking to combine language learning with a thrilling watersports experience. The academy is based at Buzz Active in Eastbourne, a recognised RYA (Royal Yachting Association) Training Centre. The Sailing Academy provides students with a fantastic opportunity to develop basic sailing skills through a mix of practical sessions on the water and shore-based theory under the guidance of qualified instructors. TENNIS Bede’s Tennis Academy offers students the opportunity to improve their tennis skills and technique. Sessions will specifically look at offensive and defensive actions as well as how to position on court and improve their tennis ability.
