ENRICHMENT During these sessions, students will further enrich their language skills by deepening their cultural understanding of the places they visit during excursions, using real- world materials such as leaflets, word searches, adverts and articles to develop their productive and receptive English skills pre- and post-excursions. PERFORMING AS A GROUP/IMPROVISATION IN A MUSICAL STYLE This session aims to work with specialist music staff on developing students’ musical confidence. Bede’s group improvisation class offers a thrilling opportunity to explore a variety of musical styles, from jazz and funk to contemporary and world music. Students will learn to listen deeply, communicate musically with their peers, and build confidence in spontaneous performance. This class is designed to be a fun and supportive environment where students can freely experiment, take risks, and discover new dimensions of their musicality alongside other students.
PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP In the performance workshop, we want to build students’ confidence and stage presence. This intensive workshop goes beyond the notes, focusing on the art of delivery and connection with the audience. Students will work on everything from stagecraft and microphone technique to managing performance anxiety and developing a compelling stage persona. Through practical sessions, students will have the opportunity to showcase their talent in various settings, receiving personalised feedback from experienced instructors. This session will refine students’ skills, allowing them to build on their musical ability. FINAL PERFORMANCE The culmination of Bede’s Summer School experience is a chance to shine. This final performance is where students will bring together everything they have learned – from technical skills to stage presence and collaborative musicality – to share their unique talent with an enthusiastic audience of peers and faculty. It is a supportive and exciting performance session, where students can celebrate their progress, showcase their artistic growth, and create lasting memories with new friends.
EXCURSIONS Pro Music students will join Dicker’s English Plus students on Wednesday half-day and weekend full-day excursions to the exciting cultural and historic destinations and attractions around London and the South of England.
