GET AROUND Pink Bun

B akers Delight bakeries across Australia will be turning pink from May 9–29 in celebration of the annual Pink Bun campaign. This year, we highlight the support network around each person with a breast cancer diagnosis, through the stories of three of our BCNA members, who each speak to their own lived experience. Our cover girls and faces of this year’s campaign—Kansas, Samantha, and Jill share their personal stories and shine a light on how BCNA has supported each of them. Kansas, who was diagnosed at just 24 years of age, drove from rural Victoria to take part. It was BCNA’s Pink Lady Match that reminded her to book in with her GP to get a lump checked. Following her diagnosis Kansas relied on BCNA’s online resources including My Journey to keep track of symptoms and prepare for appointments. Samantha from Canberra is a mum of five and was diagnosed at 39. Samantha contacted our free Helpline to share a very confronting

Jill from Perth was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in her early 50s. Jill is just one of our many members to have benefitted from BCNA’s advocacy work, as her medication is now subsidised on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). SO, HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT THIS YEAR’S CAMPAIGN? With 100% of Pink Fun Bun sales going to BCNA, it’s easy to show your support! Simply purchase a 6 pack of Pink Fun Buns from your local Bakers Delight between May 9–29.

Can you spare an hour or two during Pink Bun to support your local Bakers Delight bakery or community event? Each bakery supports us of their own good will, and all they need is volunteers in return! Volunteers might: · Talk to Bakers Delight customers about Pink Bun · Thank Bakers Delight franchisees and bakery staff · Talk about your experience with breast cancer and how BCNA has supported you · Sampling Pink Fun Buns to customers · Talk about the relationship between Bakers Delight and BCNA · Encourage people to purchase a 6-pack of Pink Fun Buns where 100% of sales

go to BCNA. Express your interest to volunteer here.

For those who love to throw a ‘pink soiree’, you can register to host a Pink Bun Party . Get your friends, workmates, or family together and pink your way throughout May. Register your Pink Bun Party here.
