NOT ONE, NOT TWO, BUT THREE Not one, not two, but three NFA nominations for AluK and our team. We’re finalists in the Systems Company of the Year category, which is a great testament to our resurgence this year under the leadership of Russell Yates - and a fantastic endorsement of the performance of the whole team.
Given the positive impact he has had since he returned to AluK as MD in September 2023, it’s no surprise that Russell himself is nominated for Director of the Year, and we’re particularly pleased that Ashley Whitehead, our Technical Engineer, is also amongst the finalists for the Young Person of the Year. Russell’s priority when he returned was to ensure that AluK is a great company to do business with – and we’re delivering on that with new products, new service initiatives and customer focused investments. He also wanted to put AluK right back at the heart of the industry and, as a widely respected figure with a huge amount of experience, Russell is making sure that AluK’s voice is heard loud and clear on everything from sustainability to Part L compliance. Ashley Whitehead certainly epitomises AluK’s renewed focus on customer service under Russell’s leadership; and his NFA nomination is in recognition of all the technical support and problem solving he provides to fabricators and installers. Whether that’s training, site investigations, site and factory audits or product testing, Ashley goes above and beyond to make sure customers get the most from their partnership with AluK.
2024 has been a standout year for AluK – with lots of innovation in both product and service. Probably the biggest product development has been our Quik Clip™ clip-in bead system which saves customers valuable minutes on every single door they fit. The side by side demo on our website is certainly worth a look because it shows one fitter glazing a panel using Quik Clip™ in just 1m 33 seconds, compared with another glazing the same sized panel using conventional beading in a massive 5m 19 seconds. Quik Clip™ was launched in February on our ever popular BSF70 HI bifold, but it is now being rolled out across other systems including our brand new S67 and S140 Lift and Slide sliding doors. Like the Quik Clip™, these new doors have been developed with the fabricator in mind – with the S67 now the fastest to fabricate door in our range and the S140 the ideal choice for all those high end retail enquiries where margins are still fairly buoyant. We’ve also strengthened our team under Russell this year, with some new and some very familiar faces taking up key roles. Jordan Kingman is back in charge of projects, Paul Greenaway is back in an area sales role and Alex Gallop has returned as Head of Marketing, while industry heavyweights Kevin Bonnar and Paul Booth have joined as Sales Director and R&D Director.
