Vendors and Procurement ESRT is committed to foster relationships with highly qualified underrepresented vendors and requires its vendors to promote an inclusive work environment. We developed a system to track vendors, services, contractors, and supply chain diversity, and we emphasize the importance of diversity with each relationship. Per the policy we implemented in 2021 for construction vendors, bids must include at least one MWVDBE vendor or one out of four vendors when possible. In 2023, we awarded 27% of construction project vendors totaling over $30M to MWBE owners. ESRT requires all partners, suppliers, and vendors to adhere to our Vendor Code of Conduct, which outlines our expectations for ethical conduct, legal and regulatory compliance, environmental standards, human rights and labor standards, diversity, equity and inclusion, and health and safety. ESRT contracts require that new and existing suppliers comply with all local, state, and federal laws, which incorporate the New York City Human Rights Law. ESRT, in conjunction with the Real Estate Roundtable, has been at the forefront of the real estate industry’s development of an MWVDBE business directory from which the entire industry can benefit. ESRT became a member of Supplier Gateway in 2023. Our membership gives us the ability to track and verify current suppliers as MWVDBE owners and helps us discover new diverse vendors in the system. Certification is collected in the system to electronically track and verify supplier diversity progress.
