dustry’s achievement of a number of North American and world firsts in waste reduction and recycling. He served on various national and provincial task forces, boards, com- mittees, and councils, and became a widely respected blogger on environmental issues. Mullinder succeeded in publishing a few short stories and a book of blogs on environmental policy and recycling issues, but it was the widespread ignorance, misinforma- tion and confusion being disseminated on social media led him to write his first book, “Deforestation in Canada and Other Fake News” in 2018. Indeed, in his career working on environmental policy issues, Mullinder discovered a wide-open field of opportu- nity for those inclined to, in his words, “mislead, obscure, exaggerate, spin, lie and plain old BS. And it’s not always the sales and marketing types, it’s the environmental groups and governments, as well.” Ground-Truthing In “Little Green Lies,” Mullinder assembled almost 40 unique entries, arranged alphabetically for ease of refer- ence. There is a section of “key terms.” There are ample charts, graphs, photos and illustrations for those of us who like to see words supported by pictures. Of the almost 40 entries, Mullinder has made his best effort to “ground- truth” every single one of them with information sources provided in the end notes and key sources in the back of the book.

visiting his uncle’s farm. That the young Mullinder was duped by an older and smarter sibling can be forgiven. He was, after all, only five. But John the adult admits to learn- ing more from that “innocent little chomp-down” than one might expect: “Be wary of the con man and the smooth talker. And check out the apple pie first.” Scholar, Author, Environmentalist It can also be suggested that “Little Green Lies” was the book Mullinder -- the scholar, the author and the en- vironmentalist -- was preparing to write all his life. He was born and educated in new Zealand and graduated with a Master of Arts (Honours) degree in English from the Uni- versity of Canterbury Christchurch. He trained briefly as a teacher before setting off to see the world, backpack- ing and adventuring through the South Pacific, California, Mexico, and Central and South America. Upon his return to New Zealand, John ventured into journalism, first becoming a reporter with South Pacific Television and then Television New Zealand as a research- er/reporter on one of the country’s leading current affairs programs. During this time, he freelanced for a variety of international magazines before emigrating to Canada in the mid-1980s. There he was asked to lead an environ- mental council for the country’s paper packaging indus- try: PPEC. He knew nothing about packaging issues but learned quickly, and over the years coordinated the in-

Do you need printed sheets? We have your answer.. Introducing Heartland’s ColorCorr. This is “flexo-printing in the round”. On our corrugator we can print up to 109” wide. The advantage is that we can print the equivalent of ½ roll at a time and not be required to keep several rolls of very expensive preprinted paper on the floor. Much less waste and risk. In continual print mode, we use either laser-engraved rubber rolls or solid rubber rolls to print a “flood coat” or a repeating pattern. If we are printing a repeating pattern, we can run a two-color design on the paper. Customers have found that running sheets we print can allow them to run a lighter-grade due to reduced caliper loss, and in some cases eliminate one or more machine passes.
