Funeral Options________________________________ Funerary customs comprise the complex beliefs and practices used by a culture to remember and respect the dead, from interment to monuments and rituals undertaken in their honor. Customs vary widely within our nation and burials may include many different options. Typically, funeral rites and services are funded privately. However, if the deceased is active military or a veteran, some of the services may be assisted by the Veterans Administration (VA). If the individual is indigent and has very limited income or has no next of kin, the county coroner can assist with burial.
