Healthcare Resources___________________________ Healthcare is provided by primary care physicians who often work in physician groups. Secondary healthcare is provided in hospital settings (acute care) which may lead to specialized hospital or medical referrals. These services are funded for seniors by: • Medi-Cal, the state of California’s Medicaid program. • Medicare (Part A for hospitalization and Part B for medical services) along with a Medicare advantage plan (Part C) which includes prescription coverage; or a supplemental health care plan and prescription coverage (Part D). • Private insurance • VA benefits • Retirement health care coverage from CalPERS, Federal Retirement, Tri-Care, or other retirement coverage.
