and Field Club for the extra training and coaching advice she received that helped her nail her place in the Eastern Regionals lineup after EOSSAA. “I was happy with my 200,” she said. “My 400, I could have run better, I know that. This week I have to pick up the 400.” While Campeau’s 26.13-second finish in 200-metre at EOSSAA was a personal best time for her, she sees the 400-metre as her best shot at making it to OFSA. Her EOSSAA time was 1:02 minutes, which she said is slow compared to her best time of 59 se- conds in the event. Her plan is to bolt out of the block sooner, get a good lead on the competition and keep it right to the finish line. “I just want to qualify and advance to OFSA,” she said. “And get some more perso- nal bests.” Rossi achieved a personal best in the 100-metre sprint at EOSSAA with a time of 11.58 seconds, shaving off about half a second from his previous best time in the event.
“I felt like I accomplished something,” he said. “I was looking for a personal best and also to qualify for the Easterns.” Now the goal is make top three at the Terry Fox Field in Ottawa to clinch his OFSA berth, and maybe see if he can boost his speed just a few microseconds more. “I’d like to get under 11.3,” he said.
