Vietnam’s 15th National Assembly (NA) passed Law 41/2024/QH15 on Social Insurance (SI) during its seventh sitting at the end of June 2024, with 93.42 per cent of the deputies voting in its favour. Before its passage, the new law had received consensus from the government and relevant agencies. The law includes new amendments intended to enhance the country’s social insurance coverage and adequacy. The amendments seek to adopt international standards and secure the future of a rapidly ageing population.
