This insurance pays benefits directly to you to help offset the out-of-pocket expenses associated with an unexpected hospital stay, such as deductibles, copays or lost income. Benefits are paid based on inpatient hospital admissions and confinement. The benefit is yours to use however you want, including paying for healthcare expenses, mortgage, rent, or other bills. EXAMPLE CLAIM: Laura is admitted to the hospital to give birth to her new baby. Her normal delivery kept her in the hospital for a total of three days. Fortunately, Laura’s Hospital Care plan paid her $1,700 to help cover her medical costs - benefits that allowed her to focus on her new baby rather than the financial impact of the hospitalization.
