RETAINED OWNERSHIP J.J. Scheckel reserves and retains one-half revenue sharing semen interests on each bull selling. Full possession and full salvage value stays with the buyer unless otherwise noted. FIRST BREEDING SEASON WARRANTY There is no question bulls are prone to injury. Every bull we sell comes with a First Breeding Season Warranty. A breeding season is defined as 60 days after first turnout. We do this to maintain 100% satisfaction and fairness with our customers. This means the bull you purchase will be warrantied if he is found to not be a satisfactory breeder by a vet. This includes a broken penis, severe lameness, or any injury that prevents him from being able to breed your cows. We operate on the honor system, offering an easy resolution to injured bulls. After we receive your vet confirmation of injury, you send the injured bull to kill market yourself, providing us with the receipt. We will place a credit on your account for future sale purchases in the amount you paid for the bull at our sale, less the salvage value from the kill market. This is not a cash back situation; this is a credit that will be on your account here for future sale purchases. To qualify for the warranty, we must first be notified of the problem. Your vet will need to call us for the reason of injury, and the bull must be alive for this warranty to be in effect. We cannot cover or warranty a dead bull for any reason whatsoever, you will want to purchase outside mortality insurance if you wish to protect yourself from a dead bull for any reason. What this warranty means to you– is that we are trying to be as fair and good as we can to our customers. We want happy, repeat customers.

Welcome customers, friends and fellow cattlemen! We again, humbly welcome you to our 2025 Annual Black Friday Production Sale! The theme this year, like every year, is promoting our cattle that have a foundation in fundamentals and real substance . We breed cattle based on real world production records. In a world of smoke and mirrors, flashy marketing, edited pictures, and relying upon EPD numbers alone, we want to assure you that our seedstock operation is still putting in the real actual work and is rooted in real substance . We still perform intense and complete Angus herd improvement records, measurement data, and guidelines on our herd, including: real birthweights, real weaning weights, real yearling weights, real carcass ultrasound scans for marbling, fat, and ribeye size, real scrotal meas- urements, real hip heights, real udder scores, real feet scores, real temperament scoring, real production records on cows, and so much more! This takes a lot of real work and commitment. Furthermore, along with these real measurements that we perform, every single animal we own is DNA tested for parentage verification, and full-panel performance tested via DNA as well to increase EPD accuracy. We cull extremely hard for any animal in our herd that has displayed poor feet, poor udders, poor temperament, and poor fertility, period. We can say that after 18 plus years of aggressively growing our registered herd, and culling extremely hard year after year, every single animal still breeding and walking on our farm has earned it the old fashion way. We have as solid and sound of a herd as we have ever had and are proud of the herd we have built. We did this through real work. There is no substitute for boots-on-the ground, real production measurements, and time. All of our sale pictures in this catalog are 100% real, no photoshop! The J.J. Scheckel Angus program has always strictly focused on breeding, promoting, and improving, a type of power-cow that is of super high-capacity: big-barrelled, big-boned, big-footed, extra-wide, long, thick, and deep, while being balanced in her look and possessing original Angus breed character. She is solid and sound, she possesses the perfect udder, perfect feet, easy fleshing, all in a moderate frame size. These are the kind and type of base cows that stand up in our tough environment, while delivering the extra thick and heavy-weight calves we seek, and our customers seek, at weaning and beyond. The breeding bulls created from our cow herd will go on to make calves for our commercial cattlemen customers, that will wean extra pounds, then go to the feedlot, and perform among the top in the industry on both gain, and grade, with the genetic ability to meet high- quality standards and earn premiums for our customers. The heifer calves retained from these breeding bulls will carry forward the genetics to replicate these traits of economic importance in ensuing generations to come. To move the needle forward for real improvement, we must realize that everything created, for generations to come, is a by-product of that seedstock cow. She has got to be nothing less than great in all the relevant traits of importance. This is more than numbers, more than growth alone, more than carcass alone, more than milking ability alone. She has to be the complete balanced package that earns herself a high-ratioing production record of success the old fashion way. This game is still won year after year in the pasture. If you want to improve your own herd, we feel its important to look at seedstock outfits that are putting in the real work and rooted in real substance with a foundation in fundamentals. Thanks for looking at our program and if you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to call, text or email me anytime!

OUR BREEDING PROGRAM
We breed and sell bulls specifically built for the real-world commercial cattlemen who are looking to improve their future calf crops. We primarily sell developed bulls that average 18 months old. These bulls will weigh more than young yearlings, and will be able to breed 18 to 24 head of cows their first year in service. We strive to develop these bulls slowly and correctly, so they hold up for long term use. At any point in the 18 month growth cycle, these bulls are culled if they possess bad feet, bad tempera- ment, bad performance, or any trait we would not like to pass on to our customers. All bulls are fully registered with the American Angus Association, and will have: actual birthweight data, weaning and yearling weight data, carcass ultrasound data, hip heights, scrotal measurements, breeding soundness exam, full panel DNA testing, current EPD’s, and more. Because of this, we feel these bulls present a superior value to our customers . They will hold condition better than a yearling bull. These bulls have been held by us long enough where we can get all the carcass ultrasounds and yearling measurements performed at our place – this data helps steer our breeding program, and if we sold yearlings we would not be able to capture this data. In short, we do all of this for you, our customer. We want nothing more than to provide cost efficient and superior genetics that improve your own herds, make you happy, and keep you coming back for more. Our cattle are bred for commercial customers who sell cattle by the pound! Performance cattle capable of: high growth, big weaning weights, high carcass value, maintaining moderate frame size, superior maternal traits, easy fleshing, excellent bags, feet, and temperament. We target a bull with a frame size of 5 to 6.5 that will mature at 2,500 plus pounds, and a moderate frame cow that will weigh 1,400 plus pounds through her extra length, mass of body, capacity, and overall volume. We find these cattle to ideally suit our environment and feed resources here in the Midwest. This seedstock creates the kind of feeder cattle the market desires for both high growth and high grade , while at the same time, leaving the big, long, deep bodied replacement females that display a wide pelvis for easy calving, while also having the eye appeal that cattle- men love universally. SELLING TO COMMERCIAL CATTLEMEN IS OUR BUSINESS! OUR HERD GOALS, OUR PROGRAM DIRECTION

BULL TEST STATIONS
We believe in openly testing our genetics with other purebred breeders around the country. That’s why we send so many bulls to bull test stations located across the United States. These tests give a baseline comparison of what the bloodlines are capable of in terms of genetic performance. Besides weight gain, the tests are looking at carcass quality, confirmation, scrotal size, temperament, and semen quality.
