LIVE AND IN PERSON There’s nothing quite like being at the sale in person - the chance to walk through and study the cattle, reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and take in the beauty of Iowa’s Driftless Region while enjoying some genuine hospitality. But if you can’t make it, no worries - we offer several convenient ways to purchase cattle so you can still be part of the sale, wherever you are. PHONE BIDDING This is the suggested process for anyone who does not have consistent, high- speed internet. You still must register an account at Bid.SuperiorLivestock. com and request a buyer number. Once you receive a buyer number you will see the bid line phone number . Just watch the auction online and call in at least two lots ahead of the lot you are looking to bid on. A Superior Livestock representative will be with you over the phone and will assist you in placing bids. ONLINE BIDDING This auction will be broadcast live on Superior Livestock Auction (Bid. Welcome customers, friends and fellow cattlemen! We again, humbly welcome you to our 2025 Annual Black Friday Production Sale! The theme this year, like every year, is promoting our cattle that have a foundation in fundamentals and real substance . We breed cattle based on real world production records. In a world of smoke and mirrors, flashy marketing, edited pictures, and relying upon EPD numbers alone, we want to assure you that our seedstock operation is still putting in the real actual work and is rooted in real substance . We still perform intense and complete Angus herd improvement records, measurement data, and guidelines on our herd, including: real birthweights, real weaning weights, real yearling weights, real carcass ultrasound scans for marbling, fat, and ribeye size, real scrotal meas- urements, real hip heights, real udder scores, real feet scores, real temperament scoring, real production records on cows, and so much more! This takes a lot of real work and commitment. Furthermore, along with these real measurements that we perform, every single animal we own is DNA tested for parentage verification, and full-panel performance tested via DNA as well to increase EPD accuracy. We cull extremely hard for any animal in our herd that has displayed poor feet, poor udders, poor temperament, and poor fertility, period. We can say that after 18 plus years of aggressively growing our registered herd, and culling extremely hard year after year, every single animal still breeding and walking on our farm has earned it the old fashion way. We have as solid and sound of a herd as we have ever had and are proud of the herd we have built. We did this through real work. There is no substitute for boots-on-the ground, real production measurements, and time. All of our sale pictures in this catalog are 100% real, no photoshop! The J.J. Scheckel Angus program has always strictly focused on breeding, promoting, and improving, a type of power-cow that is of super high-capacity: big-barrelled, big-boned, big-footed, extra-wide, long, thick, and deep, while being balanced in her look and possessing original Angus breed character. She is solid and sound, she possesses the perfect udder, perfect feet, easy fleshing, all in a moderate frame size. These are the kind and type of base cows that stand up in our tough environment, while delivering the extra thick and heavy-weight calves we seek, and our customers seek, at weaning and beyond. The breeding bulls created from our cow herd will go on to make calves for our commercial cattlemen customers, that will wean extra pounds, then go to the feedlot, and perform among the top in the industry on both gain, and grade, with the genetic ability to meet high- quality standards and earn premiums for our customers. The heifer calves retained from these breeding bulls will carry forward the genetics to replicate these traits of economic importance in ensuing generations to come. To move the needle forward for real improvement, we must realize that everything created, for generations to come, is a by-product of that seedstock cow. She has got to be nothing less than great in all the relevant traits of importance. This is more than numbers, more than growth alone, more than carcass alone, more than milking ability alone. She has to be the complete balanced package that earns herself a high-ratioing production record of success the old fashion way. This game is still won year after year in the pasture.
