HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE
TERRY HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE LEVEL 1 AWARD Terry is studying the Health & Social Care Level 1 Award at Preston College, inspired by his passion for supporting people in need, particularly those affected by addiction. Through his studies, he has enjoyed meeting new people and developing valuable skills that have helped him grow both personally and professionally. He’s also gained a deeper understanding of how to listen, empathise, and provide meaningful support to others. “The College has supported me in all aspects of my journey, both financially and mentally. As a mature student, Preston College has helped me transition back into education, and learning has become a rewarding new process.” Terry’s goal is to use his knowledge and experiences to make a difference by supporting young people who are homeless, in trouble with the police, or struggling with addiction.

She began her journey by completing Functional Maths and English at Preston College before progressing to the Supporting Teaching & Learning Level 2. Sarah enjoyed the knowledge gained in class and her school placement, applying learning directly in the classroom. Now studying Understanding Children & Young People’s Mental Health Level 2 alongside Digital Skills, Sarah works as a supply teaching assistant, with the goal of securing a full-time role in the future. “I’ve loved my time here. I’ve learned so much that I use every day, and I’d recommend Preston College to anyone thinking about a new career.”
