Dear ZIPD Conference Participant,
It is my honor to welcome you to the 2025 Zeigler Institute for Professional Development (ZIPD) Conference as we celebrate 15 years of excellence, growth, and impact. Since the very first conference in 2011, ZIPD has reflected the same spirit that inspired our It Starts With Us campaign—a belief that lasting change begins when dedicated individuals come together to create opportunity. What began as a bold vision from Bloomsburg alumni Terry ’76 and JoAnn Schultz Zeigler ’77, in partnership with business faculty and university leadership, has grown into an incredibly enriching experience that has prepared more than 16,000 students to step confidently into their futures. At the heart of Terry Zeigler’s vision was a simple but powerful idea—helping students discover where their skills and interests intersect so they can identify the right career path before graduation. He often describes this as a sense of connectedness —understanding how the many facets of business and industry work together, and how each student’s unique strengths fit within that larger picture. That philosophy continues to guide ZIPD today, empowering students to align their passions with purpose and turn potential into professional success. Each year, this conference brings accomplished alumni and industry professionals back to campus to mentor, inspire, and empower our students. That shared commitment—to give back, to lift others, to open doors—has transformed ZIPD into far more than a professional development program. It’s a movement that demonstrates what’s possible when Huskies unite around a common purpose. As we honor 15 years of the ZIPD Conference, we also celebrate the countless ways it continues to shape leaders, strengthen our community, and advance the promise of a CU education. Together, we’re preparing the next generation to lead with pride and purpose—because it truly does start with us.
