Sales Tick Up, Inventory Grows
Inventory climbs, but sales remain cautious across the region.
September brought a modest lift in York Region’s housing market. Sales rose 18% compared to last year, though year-to-date numbers remain down over 11%, reflecting cautious buyer activity. Aurora saw the steepest decline, down 25%, while Georgina fared best with just under an 8% drop, showing how varying price points are affecting sales across the region.
Active listings increased 19% region- wide, with Aurora and King seeing the largest gains and Whitchurch- Stouffville the smallest. The growing supply gives buyers more choice and flexibility, while sellers face a market where pricing and positioning are more important than ever. This shift is gradually creating a more balanced landscape for buyers and sellers alike.
