SFLHCC’S HWSN FASHIONABLY RED HEART DISEASE AWARENESS LUNCHEON AND PANEL DISCUSSION The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) proudly hosted its HWSN Fashionably Red Heart Disease Awareness Luncheon and Panel Discussion, an inspiring and informative event aimed at raising awareness about heart disease—the leading cause of death in the United States. Held as part of the Chamber’s Hispanic Women Society Network (HWSN), this signature luncheon brought together top cardiology professionals and passionate advocates to emphasize the importance of early detection, prevention, and community education in the fight against cardiovascular disease. The distinguished panel featured: Dr. Joseph Lamelas – Chief of Cardiac Surgery, UHealth Dr. Jose Osorio – Medical Director of Electrophysiology, HCA Florida Mercy Hospital Dr. Yadira Martinez – Director of Outpatient Cardiology and Co-Director of the NeuroCardiac and Development Program, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Dr. Sofia Horvath Adam – Cardiologist, Mount Sinai Medical Center Dr. Nicolas A. Brozzi – Cardiothoracic & Cardiovascular Surgeon, Cleveland Clinic Florida’s Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute The panel was moderated by Maria Fernanda Lopez, Emmy Award-winning news anchor and reporter for Univision 23 Miami. One of the most moving moments came from Ana Sotorrio, who shared a powerful personal testimonial about her journey with heart disease, reminding attendees of the very real impact these conditions have on everyday lives. Through events like Fashionably Red, SFLHCC continues to lead the charge in educating and empowering our community. Together, we are building a healthier future—one heartbeat at a time.
