The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) proudly hosted its Annual Artificial Intelligence Symposium, highlighting the transformative power of AI across key sectors including business, health, hospitality, and education. The event's centerpiece was the compelling panel discussion, “Smart Moves: The Power and Challenges of AI in Business, Health, Hospitality & Education,” which brought together top leaders and innovators to explore how AI is reshaping the way we live and work. From medical advancements and academic tools to cybersecurity and automated business systems, the conversation underscored both the promise and the responsibility that comes with AI implementation. Moderated by Eileen Cardet, Emmy Award-winning news anchor and published author, the panel featured a prestigious lineup: Dr. Jose Dotres, Superintendent, Miami-Dade County Public Schools David Reis, CIO, University of Miami Health System Dr. Diana Azzam, Assistant Professor, Florida International University Jovianna Gonzalez, CEO & Founder, Digital Forensics Now Dr. Julio Franco, Director, Institute of Epic Leadership, St. Thomas University Dr. David Sack, Medical Director, Mercy Hospital Douglas Mackle, VP, Xerox Business Solutions Southeast Together, these experts addressed not only the vast opportunities AI offers, but also the ethical considerations, workforce impacts, and operational challenges that must be carefully navigated. Following the symposium, the Chamber proudly presented its Health Champion Awards, honoring 12 individuals whose outstanding contributions are improving the health and well-being of our community.
