Amy Jackson, Andrew Woodward, Lurendharen Ruddy, Suzanne Glover, and Veronica Morton led the implementation of the ventrogluteal intramuscular injection (VGIMI) pilot at NBCMHS. This initiative represents innovation in clinical practice, introducing a safer, evidence - informed site for the administration of long - acting antipsychotic medications. The project aligns with MHDA priorities by enhancing consumers safety, service delivery, and quality of care, while also strengthening clinicians ’ skills, confidence, and competence in safe medication administration. Building on the success of the pilot, the next phase of the VGIMI rollout is set to commence across additional MHDA locations, extending this model district - wide.
