Dow Innovation Awards Open For Submissions Dow is back with its 2023/2024 edition of its Packaging Innovation Awards (PIA), a packaging industry accolade for recognizing breakthroughs in technological advancement, sustainability and en- hanced user experience. As one of the industry’s longest-running inde- pendently judged awards, the global program — now into its 35th edition — will be held in Asia-Pacific this year as the region plays host for the first time to both the judging event and awards ceremony. PIA shines a spotlight on designs that demon- strate what packaging can be when industry talent harnesses creativity and technology to solve con- temporary challenges across the complete packag- ing value chain. The 2022 edition drew more than 180 packaging submissions from 30 countries, and 28 inspiring packaging solutions were recognized for their de- monstrable excellence. This edition marks the beginning of a new bienni- al format that provides a longer submission period to give participants more time to collaborate with relevant partners on building out a submission. The submission period is now open and closes on March 8, 2024. Award finalists will be notified on
August 28, 2024, with the awards ceremony set to take place in Tokyo, Japan in October 2024. FTA Opens Call for Entries In 2024 Award Competitions The Flexographic Technical Association has offi- cially announced the call for entries in the 2024 in- stallments of its three industry-wide, annual awards competitions. • The FTA Excellence in Flexography Awards, which recognize high-quality and consistent flexo- graphic printing, and the printers who produce it. The deadline to enter is January 25, 2024 . • The FTA Technical Innovation Award, which spotlights exciting and innovative technologies impacting the flexographic printing process. The deadline to enter is February 16, 2024 . • The FTA Sustainability Excellence Award, which honors companies for their sustainability programs and innovations in sustainability. The deadline to enter is January 12, 2024 . Printers and suppliers are invited to enter all three competitions. All recipients will be announced at FTA’s Awards Banquet during FORUM & INFOFLEX 2024, May 5-8 in Kansas City, Missouri.
