CALVING EASE: There is more to calving ease than birth weight. Birth weight, shape of calf at birth, pelvic area, size of cow and nutrition during gestation can all effect calving ease. CED, BW and MCE should all be considered when selecting bulls. Continued selection for just light BW can lead to low growth rates. All istered lots have been screened or DNA tested and are free of all known genetic abnormalities. Bulls have the greatest economic impact on any breeding program. 80% of the improvement in a herd over time is attributed to bull selection. Dams of Distinction are noted by an * in the pedigrees.
