Davis Pioneer Cabin Located on Shawan Falls Drive near the entrance of Indian Run Falls Park, this is an historic cabin furnished with pieces appropriate to the period. Second Sunday Speaker Series Located at the Columbus Metropolitan Library – Dublin Branch, all programs take place from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Register for a program at DublinOhioHistory.org. March 8 – Dr. Mark Stechschulte, MD, a retired gastroenterologist, presents Tracing the History of Medicine in Dublin, Ohio: An examination of five community physicians and the common health concerns, illnesses and health crises Dublin faced from its founding until the mid-1960s. April 12 – Dr. Sarah K. Douglas, PhD, a senior lecturer at The Ohio State University, presents The American Revolution: How a fledgling Continental Army grew, adapted and persevered to win America’s independence. May 10 – Dan Sullivan, Executive Director of the Memorial Tournament, and Dave Shedloski, Editor of The Memorial magazine, team up to present 50th Anniversary of the Memorial Tournament: Key moments in tournament history and Jack Nicklaus’ inspiration behind creating Muirfield Village Golf Club. June 14 – Kathleen Fulmer Waller, past regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Ann Simpson Davis Chapter, presents Honoring Our Patriot Ancestors: A brief history of the DAR including contributions of the Ann Simpson Davis Chapter and highlights of other local patriots. July 12 – David Gerhardt, veteran and author of Vietnam: The Last Combat Marines, presents The Incredible Story of Winifred Breegle: A naval cryptographer from 1944 until 1949. Aug. 9 – Heather Miller, Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) Coordinator for the Wyandotte Nation, presents The Legacy and Learnings of Wyandot Removal: An intertwined history of the Wyandot and Dublin, Ohio. (*Wyandotte refers to the present-day tribal nation in Oklahoma, while Wyandot refers to the tribe and its peoples at the time of their settlement in Ohio.) Sept. 13 – Kevin Wood, a professional Lincoln portrayer, presents Abraham Lincoln: A New Birth of Freedom. Enjoy hearing a first-hand historical account, from Abraham Lincoln himself, of his childhood on the frontier through the Civil War. Historic Dublin Walking Tours Starting in the heart of the Historic District only a short distance from the site where the Sells brothers first set up their lodgings, visitors can take a step back in time on these few city blocks. Enjoy the charm of the district, the architecture of the homes and stores, and take in the sights along banks of the Scioto River from the beautiful stone bridge on the river’s edge. Coffman Homestead Open House

The Fletcher Coffman Homestead typifies American farm life of the 1800s. The Civil War era brick house and adjoining farm buildings are a testimonial to the hard-working people who constituted the second generation of Ohio pioneer families. Also, visit the replica one-room schoolhouse. Open House Dates: May 17, June 21, July 19 and Aug. 16 Time: 1-3 p.m. Location: Coffman Homestead at Coffman Park
