BUILDING BELONGING
How YOU Can Strengthen the Dublin Community (and Vice Versa) Community and connection are at the heart of wellbeing. In a fast- paced, often disconnected world, feeling supported and understood by others is essential to our mental, emotional and physical health. At Syntero, we believe that strong communities help individuals and families thrive — and that connection is essential to wellbeing at every stage of life.
Research consistently shows that people who feel socially connected experience lower rates of anxiety and depression, improved physical health and greater resilience during times of stress or change. Conversely, isolation and loneliness can negatively impact wellbeing at any age. That’s why Syntero’s work is grounded in strengthening both individual mental health and the community connections that sustain it. As a partner in the Dublin Wellness Alliance, which unites the city with private, public and nonprofit community organizations, Syntero is helping to strengthen community wellbeing through education, resources, access and meaningful connections.
Dublin, Ohio, is a community built on care, collaboration and shared responsibility. From vibrant neighborhood events to welcoming public spaces, Dublin offers many ways for people to feel a sense of belonging. Whether you’re a longtime resident or new to the area, meaningful connection is not only possible, it’s encouraged.
So how can you build connection right here in Dublin?
• Participate in community life. Attend city events like the Dublin Irish Festival, farmers markets, library programs, or concerts and cultural celebrations. Shared experiences help foster understanding and open the door to new relationships. • Get involved and give back. Giving back strengthens not only our community, but our own sense of purpose. Volunteering or supporting local schools, nonprofits (like Dublin Food Bank, OneDublin, or Syntero), or service organizations (like the City’s volunteer program, rotary clubs, or The Dublin Women’s Philanthropic Club) is a meaningful way to connect with others while supporting causes that matter. • Use shared spaces. Dublin’s parks, trails, recreation programs and community centers offer natural opportunities to connect while caring for your physical and mental health.
• Check in and reach out. Connection often begins with small, intentional acts of kindness. A simple conversation, a listening ear, or asking someone how they’re really doing can make a difference. • Know support is available. Being part of a healthy community also means knowing when and where to seek help. Syntero provides compassionate mental health counseling, prevention and community-based services for individuals, families and children of all ages throughout Dublin, call (614)889-5722 ext. 133 if you need support. Celebrating 50 years of impact, Syntero is proud to move Together Forward with the Dublin community — supporting connection, resilience and wellbeing across the lifespan.
