Athletic Performance Pilates deals with the core muscles from the hips. Integrating stability muscles into athletic performance is key to reducing injuries and helping establish power, control, and the ability to redirect quickly without damaging connective tissues. This class can also be a restorative class for people who have had ligament issues and recurring injuries. It can be a strong support for an elite or recovering athlete. Pilates Jumpboard Interval classes are cardio and core workouts that use a jumpboard and reformer to build strength and burn calories. They can include a variety of exercises, such as jumping, core and leg work and upper body exercises. Some classes may also use a mini stability ball for added intensity. This is an intermediate-level class where familiarity with the reformer is helpful. The class is not for those with knee joint issues (osteoarthritis, knee pain or replacements, or severe back pain, such as bulging or herniated discs).
