enrolled. “Sabrina didn’t know that my teenage daughters and I had been looking for a brand of body wash and shampoo that wasn’t filled with toxic chemicals and fillers,” Sharon says. Sharon was so excited about Melaleuca products that she began sharing them with family and friends. Soon she had enrolled four customers and had earned her first check—totaling around $130. And those checks from Melaleuca kept coming, month after month. “That’s when Pat started paying attention,” Sharon laughs. Pat had slowly been warming to this new shopping club as he experienced the products and saw how reasonably priced they were. But he was reluctant to jump into building the business with Sharon. Then Sharon brought him to Road to Executive Director—and what he saw and heard there convinced him to give it a try. Now he is actively enrolling new customers as well and even recently surpassed Sharon’s monthly enrollment count! Building together, Sharon and Pat are taking full advantage of this “free benefit” of their Melaleuca membership. They’re reaching goals, creating a better life for themselves, helping others do the same, and building lifelong friendships along the way. “When our youngest was 14, I was praying for Pat and me to be led to a venture we could do together,” Sharon says. “For 30 years he was a high school band director as well as a principal. Most days, it seemed like we only saw each other at our kids’ basketball and volleyball games. So having our Melaleuca business to build together is such a joy!” JC
One of Sharon Autry’s biggest aha moments of Convention 2022 was a simple statement by National Director 3 Beth Schomp during a workshop session. “Beth was describing how she follows up with a customer after they’ve enrolled and shopped with Melaleuca,” Sharon says. “Her language is like this: ‘We didn’t get a chance to talk about the referral side of things. This is a free benefit of your Melaleuca membership!’ “I’d never thought about it that way, but it was so true. Referring others to shop with Melaleuca is an additional benefit of your Melaleuca membership! You get to refer friends and family, and Melaleuca thanks you and pays you a commission! That’s kind of revolutionary!” It’s no surprise then that falling in love with the products—and then, naturally, telling her family and friends about them—was how Sharon began building her Melaleuca business. Sharon was skeptical the first time National Director 2 Sabrina Ellis asked her for a chance to share the store she had found. But once she learned about Affinia ™ personal care products, and found out how reasonably priced they were, Sharon immediately
