Pritzker Group To Acquire ProAmpac

Flexo Market News

I NTERNET D IRECTORY

Pritzker Group Private Capital has signed a defini- tive agreement to acquire ProAmpac, a global flexi- ble packaging company, from Wellspring Capital Management. Pritzker Group Private Capital and other co-in- vestors are investing alongside the ProAmpac man- agement team, which will remain a significant shareholder, continue to lead the company and serve on its board of directors. The transaction is expected to close by the end of November. Range Of Products Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, ProAmpac has more than 2,400 employees across 18 manufacturing locations in North America, Europe and Asia. The company offers a broad range of products and capa- bilities, including wide web extrusion coating and laminating of film, foil, paperboard and nonwovens; metallizing; pouching; bag converting, and ro- togravure and flexographic printing. Flint Group, AMS Partner For LED Ink Solution Flint Group and Air Motion Systems have partnered to develop, test and introduce a line of LED-curable low-migration inks for in-mold labels that meet strict regulations for inks intended for food-packaging ap- plications. Strict Guidelines According to officials, the new inks adhere to guidelines put forth in the “Swiss Ordinance” (SR 817.023.21), a piece of legislation introduced by Switzerland in 2010 (and revised multiple times, most recently in June 2015) that outlines sub- stances/components deemed safe for use in the pro- duction of pr inting inks developed for food packaging, and that of similarly sensitive goods. The Swiss Ordinance guidelines are designed to avoid sit- uations where, if ink were to “migrate” into a product and contaminate it, consumers would potentially be harmed; going a step further, it also mandates the ac- ceptable migratory properties of any elements/sub- stances on the list of approved potential ink ingredients on a PPM level, to ensure that consumers are at no risk. Because regulations around the world vary greatly, the “Swiss Ordinance” is reportedly considered a stringent and thorough set of rules to specifically ad- dress printing inks for such applications.
