their wares today.” J. Lloyd Jones, Edi tor of the Tulsa Oklahoma Tribune, wrote in the May 28, 1962 issue of the U. S. News and World Report, “Gan anyone deny that movies are dirtier than ever, but they won’t call it dirt. They call it realism. Why do we let them fool us? “Isn’t it plain that the financially harrassed Movie Industry is putting gods of sex in the darkened drive-ins in an effort to lure curious teenagers away from their TV sets? Recently the screen industry announced that henceforth perversion and homosexuality would no longer be barred from the screen pro viding the subjects were handled with delicacy and taste.” Again, we turn to the list of II Timo thy 3:3 and find that the next word is “fierce.” Of the gravest import to law enforcement officers is the growth of riots and attacks upon police which are in evidence across our Country. While our police are only human, they are to be honored as enforcers of the civil law. As one writer aptly phrased it, “We have sown the dragon teeth of pseudoscientific sentimentality, and out of the ground has come a whirl wind springing up bearing switch blade knives and bicycle chains.” Yes, there have been more and more butcherings, cuttings, and attacks by roving bands of uncontrolled youth. In the last days the Apostle says men shall be “fierce” and brutal. Now the last phrase from the 3rd verse is, that in the last days men shall be despisers of that which is good — despisers of righteousness. Men and women do not want to be told that they are going to hell without the Lord Je sus Christ. If you are a Christian the world hates you, you may as well face up to it, but do what God leads you to do in your own area of service. Dwight L. Moody said, “My friend, I look upon this world as a wrecked ves sel. It’s total ruin is getting nearer and nearer. One day, God said to me, ‘Moody, here is a life boat — go out and rescue as many as you can before the crash comes!’ ” That should be ex actly our position as Christians! 31

times was ‘‘sodomy.” This sign, through the centuries, has stood for the vilest, filthiest, and most degrading habit. A full treatise on sodomy is given in the first chapter of the Book of Romans. The Bible declares that God has given up such individuals — what is the status of America before Him with such sins in her boundaries? Dr. Francis E. Walter has declared that “sodomy,” or sex perversion, has become a very ser ious problem within the ranks of the top secret National Security Agency of the United States.” As further proof, on the best-seller list in past recent months, is a volume entitled, “The Sixth Man,” which sup posedly authenticates the premise that one out of every six men in America is marked by sodomy. But there are yet other moral signs of the Lord’s imminent return. The next statement is, that in the last days men shall be “truce breakers.” Immediately we realize that this is certainly a fact on the international level. What hap pened to all the peace parleys?—-they have all been broken. How seldom do people keep their word today? Can it be said of them that “their word is as good as their bond.” There is a growing unrest and distrust of one an other. Then, next on the list are the words “false accusers.” We might use the term scandalmonger or, bringing it down to a word of common usage, “gos- sipers.” Of that which God hates, it is this very thing which He singles out in the 6th chapter of the Book of Prov erbs, “These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him” — verse 16. In discussing the Ninth Commandment man is ex plicitly told, “Thou shalt not bear false ’witness.” The list in II Timothy, chapter 3, moves on to the word “incontinent” — which might also be translated “in temperate” or “loose in morals.” Farm er President Dwight D. Eisenhower said, “In movies, on the stage, and in books and periodicals, there is a grow ing use of vulgarity, sexuality and deep, down-right filth which men use to sell
