of tomorrow's professional world with confidence, while at the same time being responsible citizens. In this sense, the evaluation provides us with data on the level of students, as well as information on the effectiveness of teaching practices, student practices, digital uses, and their impact on students. This study is part of a larger national initiative to certify students' digital skills and assess the effectiveness of education policies. The results of this study should provide indicators to help guide national and local educational policies, for example, in terms of curricula, teacher training, or provision of hardware. The second challenge that we aim to address more fully is to disseminate the results of this study among teachers, as we believe that this could enhance their pedagogical thinking at the level of the classroom, of their team, and of their school.

teachers for the first time. The assessment covers students' IT concepts, computational thinking, problem- solving skills, teachers' digital teaching capabilities, and schools' leadership in digital education. The data collected will help the government gauge the effectiveness of education policies and curriculum reforms. It will also aid researchers in identifying factors affecting students' information literacy and computational thinking. Addressing the digital divide between urban and rural areas, this assessment provides a basis for evaluating educational resource allocation policies. As the first nationwide assessment, it sets a baseline for future comparisons and guides revisions of the national curriculum for IT education, making this participation historically significant. With the global rise of AI, Chinese Taipei's Ministry of Education plans to incorporate AI literacy into the national curriculum. The ICILS 2023 fifth NRC meeting in Taipei has drawn significant attention, focusing on AI literacy. The meeting's conclusions will inform future AI education policies in Chinese Taipei. Overall, ICILS is a crucial project for the development of information technology education in Chinese Taipei. It provides essential feedback and references for government policymaking, ensuring that education policies are aligned with contemporary digital and AI literacy needs. This initiative represents a significant step forward in Chinese Taipei's efforts to enhance its education system and prepare students for the demands of the digital age. ■
