to enhance their businesses through upskilling. Whether that be into low carbon technologies or indeed light commercial installations, the ability to enhance and diversify is a proven route to deliver tangible bottom line opportunities to installers. And with the skills to do so already within their arsenal, offering light commercial installations can be a great place to start. “For installers looking to diversify their business for future success, it’s encouraging that we’re now seeing installers actively seek out newways to enhance their businesses through upskilling.”

can help increase efficiency of any boiler through its lifespan. In addition, in small commercial applications especially, separating the primary and secondary circuits reduces draining down during boiler maintenance. The volumes of replacement, treated make-up water will also be lower for the pressurised system, making maintenance easier for installers too. I’m already familiar with Vaillant range of controls. Are additional ones needed for light commercial boilers? Built on the same operating platform, the Vaillant range of controls, including the VRC 700 or sensoCOMFORT, that most domestic installers are already familiar with are also compatible with multiple boilers or a single, larger output boiler. What are the opportunities available to installers? The main opportunity for installers is to boost their bottom line. This is a result of both increased costs of light commercial boilers, and the nature of the installs themselves, which can often involve more specialist projects, i.e., larger domestic properties or small commercial applications. Here, the time and resource required both pre and during installation can see installers earn more revenue through fewer installs, especially when compared to their domestic counterparts. Yet while many domestic installers already have the transferable skillset to offer small commercial installations, fewer installers operate within this space, meaning there is often less competition for work. For installers looking to diversify their business for future success, it’s encouraging that we’re now seeing installers actively seek out new ways
