Publications, awards and media

GenesisCare’s research contributions were recognised through various publications, awards and media pieces throughout 2025. These accomplishments demonstrate the organisation’s ongoing commitment to improving patient outcomes and contributing to furthering medical and scientific knowledge. Some of the key highlights from the year include: • Dr Mario Guerrieri received the FROGG award at the RANZCR ASM for his presentation on the ASTuTE interim analysis. • A/Prof Yvonne Zissiadis received the Wiley Exhibit Award – Radiation Oncology at the RANZCR ASM. • Prof Jarad Martin was awarded Best Paper prize for the corresponding publication of early DEPART data at the RANZCR ASM. • The MR-Linac research team presented a huge 33 abstracts at eight conferences in 2025 including six talks and six posters over five days at the MR-Linac Consortium and Elekta ANZ User Group Meetings. • Dr Matt Mason presented findings from his Head & Neck Pay It Forward study at a number national meetings including ANZHNCS, COSA IPOS and the RANZCR ASM. • A/Prof Yvonne Zissiadis received a Poster Prize for work on Patterns of Practice for DCISionRT patients taking part in the AUS-PREDICT Registry. • Dr Mike Ng received the Tony Costello Award for Best Abstract for “Artificial intelligence impact on decision making regarding short-term ADT prostate radiotherapy: ASTuTE trial interim results.” • Dr David Schlect was featured on 9 News with Bruce Paige advocating for skin cancer checks. • GenesisCare, Wide Bay and Dr Gerry Adams recognised for participation in international skin cancer trial CPOST using immunotherapy alongside radiation therapy and also co-author of the NEJM publication. • Dr Aviral Singh elected as Secretary and Member of the Executive Board of the World Association of Radiopharmaceutical and Molecular Therapy (WARMTH). This appointment is a recognition of Dr Singh’s contribution to the field of Theranostics.

• Dr Eric Wegener awarded Best of ESTRO and top 5% of submitted abstracts at ESTRO for his presentation discussing interim analysis findings for the ASTuTE Trial. to advancing personalised cancer care through AI-guided treatment decision-making for men with prostate cancer. Early results from the first 200 patients indicate that this AI-supported approach may help doctors reduce hormone therapy, and its associated side effects without compromising quality-of-care. Congratulations to Dr Eric Wegener, Prof Jarad Martin for leading this fantastic trial. • The ASTuTE clinical trial team were joint recipients of the 2025 Cancer Control Innovation Award at the Cancer NSW Awards. This award recognises GenesisCare’s innovative contributions

• Sonya McColl named as a finalist in the Health Industry Hub Catalysts for Change Awards in the Medical Excellence category where she spoke about International Clinical Trials Day. (L-R: Sonya McColl and Vicki Sproule)

• Prof Jarad Martin opened ASTRO with the Presidential Symposium – the first ever dedicated to radiation therapy for non-malignant conditions. He presented early findings on toxicity and quality-of-life outcomes from the DEPART trial.
