Welcome to the 35th Annual Stortz Angus Ranch Production Sale!
We are beyond humbled to be able to continue our passion of working with great livestock and even better people. This year we are offering 79 registered yearling Angus bulls and 80 yearling commercial Angus replacement heifers ready to go to work for you. Sires of the AI bull calves include Deer Valley Growth Fund, Sitz Stellar, Connealy Guard Rail, BAR R Jet Black and SAV Grand Canyon. Our herd sires include a purchased Regency Acres Commerce bull and a very unique home raised Tehama Patriarch son. These sires include calving ease, maternal and growth genetics. Our heifer offering is selected right out of the heart of our herd and have the same bloodlines as the yearling bulls. The dams that make up our herd are a product of 30+ years of breeding to the top AI sires in the Angus breed. Cows are selected for longevity, mothering ability and docility. Both cows and calves are expected to be low maintenance – cows must be able to raise a calf on their own and calves do not see any creep feed before being weaned. We continue to raise our own herd sires to use with our commercial cows putting sire lines to the test. We were blessed with a few key rains this summer along with lower fly and grasshopper populations. Both cows and calves came off summer grazing in good condition. Once weaned, bull calves are fed a forage based diet to achieve reasonable growth and weight gain without jeopardizing their soundness as a herd sire. All sale bulls have genomic-enhanced EPDs utilizing the Angus GS DNA test to provide more confidence to our custom - ers. The sale will be live broadcasted on DV Auction with online bidding available. You may also contact any of our sale representatives or the Glendive Livestock Exchange to place your bid.
