Ontario Minister of Education Liz Sandals visited Russell High School’s automotive shop last week. She was greeted by Russell mayor J.P. St. Pierre, students Scott Bowman and Scott Ryan, MPP Grant Crack and RHS principal Shelley Corlyon.
Sandals was accompanied by area trust- ees and greeted by MPP Grant Crack and Mayor J.P. St. Pierre in Russell, as well as school principal Shelley Corlyon, vice-prin- cipal Rob Bradley, and other staff. The minister and her entourage took a brief tour of the school. They then spent time in Bryan MacDonald’s automotive
to respect the decisions of the university. She lauded MPP Grant Crack’s for his work on reducing the impact to Alfred College by involving Boreal College and La Cité. She was less positive about Kemptville. How- ever, she stated that “most rural communi- ties have a community college in the area where students can go.”
