A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 12

We had a very successful Sixth Form information evening on Tuesday. It was lovely to see so many of you there and we hope that you found it useful. If you were unable to attend the information evening please do not worry as we have now uploaded the presentation on our website for you to refer back to. If you have any questions regarding any aspect of it please send an email to sixthform@waldegravesch.org. We have now added the extracurricular sports timetable to all tutor group google classrooms, we encourage students to take a look at what is available and to sign up as it is a great opportunity for getting to know their peers whilst having fun. Year 12 will be starting enrichment over the next couple of weeks. Mr Bannister will be delivering an introduction assembly and the enrichment options available will be advertised to all students so they can choose their top three choices. Enrichment will be taking place during Wednesday period 4 of week B.

Please note that we have now passed the subject change deadline, so no more changes can take place.

BOOK OF THE MONTH

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

This book is written from the perspective of Charlie through letter entries, following him and his friends through their challenging navigation through high school and life. It’s a moving and honest story.

MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING

Macmillan Coffee Morning has returned to Waldegrave for another year! On Tuesday 26 September we will be hosting a bake sale in the main hall to raise money for the MacMillan Cancer Charity. We are encouraging students to bake a cake or sweet treat in theme with their house colours. Please remember when baking that nut-based products must be avoided. If you’re not up for baking, you can still come and buy some cakes on the day. Sixth Formers will be invited into the hall at break time whilst Years 7-11 will be allowed to purchase cakes at lunch time, so don’t forget to bring some coins into school! Last year Waldegrave raised £1100 in support of the charity. Let’s try our best to raise even more this year!
