Dowds Group recently held a Fun Day and Cycling Bonanza to raise vital funds for Cure Leukaemia. An enjoyable day was had by all, and activities included trying out E-Bikes, tandem relay races, face painting, bouncy castles and ice cream. Cure Leukaemia is a cause that sits close to home with Client Development Manager, Niall McCamphill who set off on Friday, 24 June to take part in the Tour21 cycle in France. Alongside a team of 19 riders, Niall will take on all 21 gruelling stages and 3,500km – one of the world’s most gruelling sporting challenges. An impressive £3,000 was raised thanks to everyone’s generosity and support. The money raised will be directly invested into the national Trails Acceleration Programme (TAP) network which Cure Leukaemia has been funding since January 2020. Charity hike in memory of Derek Thompson

In memory of much-loved friend and colleague Derek Thompson, the staff of ETT & SparkSafe LtP will be participating in two charity hikes in the Mourne Mountains to raise funds for the Macmillan Cancer Unit. The unit, located on the Antrim Area Hospital site, is an inpatient unit providing accommodation to patients with complex specialist palliative care needs. Family, friends and colleagues will set off on 2 July to climb Doan Mountain with the second walk will taking place on 3 September hiking up

Slieve Commedagh via the Brandy Pad. An avid hiker, Derek loved climbing through the Mourne Mountains and in his final year, he made it up twice. Once before his surgery and once after. Wonderful memories were made during these hikes and in his memory the exact two routes will be climbed to raise funds for Macmillan. If you would like to, you can donate through the GoFundMe page for this very worthy cause at: www.gofundme.com/f/in-memory- of-derek-thompson
