This year, the judging panel were truly amazed by the level of entries received for the Apprentice of the Year category. This award seeks to acknowledge and celebrate an apprentice’s outstanding contribution to their workplace. For the first time in Ireland’s Electrical Awards history, the panel were faced with a situation whereby they were unable to pick a clear winner. Judges felt that each of the four finalists in this category merited an award as each individual illustrated immense determination and commitment to their trade throughout the uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic. The judges strongly felt that each apprentice had rose to the challenge of training through a pandemic and meeting the many challenges that it brought with such professionalism. The apprentices, Luke Clarke from Keldin Engineering, Jamie Sommers from Bellehan Electrical Services Ltd T/A Stephen Crean Electrical and both Zain Kenny and Jack Duignan from King & Moffatt Building Services have all demonstrated such admirable skills and

effort during the training. The panel were bowled over by the attention to detail in each of the four submissions and how each apprentice overcame many challenges training during the pandemic. Each apprentice received a €250 voucher for Snickers Workwear. “Judges felt that each of the four finalists in this category merited an award as each individual illustrated immense determination and commitment to their trade throughout the uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
