Ei Electronics is delighted to have supported Scoil Seanáin Naofa, Clonlara, Co. Clare in the purchase of 20 iPads for use by students. Ei provided a donation to the school which has over 290 pupils and 18 teachers, which contributed significantly towards the purchase of 20 iPads to the school during 2021. The iPads proved a useful resource initially when students were forced to attend classes remotely during the pandemic. Today, with a full return to classes, they are used widely by the pupils in the preparation of class projects and assignments. As part of its commitment to the community, Ei recently sponsored new outdoor facilities at Clonmoney National School. Some of which included two multi goals, allowing the students to play basketball, soccer, hurling and gaelic football, as well as a new balance beam being installed. Schneider Electric Ireland up for two ESG Awards
Schneider Electric Ireland has been shortlisted for two Business & Finance Media Group #ESGAwards in the Net Zero Carbon and Energy efficiency categories. The inaugural Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Awards, in association with Business & Finance, takes place on June 30, 2022. ESG provides a specific set of criteria, namely environmental, social, and governance, that companies can measure, benchmark and report against. ESG is vitally important because it now relates to internal practices and policies that lead to effective decision-making and, in turn, facilitates sustainable top-line growth into the future. The ESG Awards will celebrate
the companies and individuals who are actively striving to address and progress environmental, social and governance issues. With a variety of categories, the Awards will showcase the successes of ESG initiatives, examples of best practice and highlight the importance of transparency in this area. The ESG Awards’ esteemed judging panel will adjudicate on all entries across a range of criteria and recognise those setting the standards for ESG Excellence. Recent figures have shown that electricians are asked on average, five times a year to provide mates’ rates with an average discount of 45% offered. The survey conducted by OnePoll on behalf of ElectricalDirect, asked 500 electricians for their opinions on mates’ rates, as well as how often they get asked and the typical discounts they offer. The results highlighted how electricians are losing hundreds of pounds and Euros every year to mates’ rates, but many feel unable to say no when friends or family ask for discounts, according to the research. On average, each worker who took part in the survey gets asked to reduce their quotes five times a year, with only 1% of respondents saying they never get requests. Based on the average day rate, an electrician loses over £125 a day, by offering the typical level of discount, which works out at £657 a year.
