ECOVOLT WERE DELIGHTED WITH ITS RECENT AWARD OF “INNOVATOR OF THE YEAR” AT THE SFA AWARDS… Innovative product pays off for EcoVolt

T he team at EcoVolt were thrilled to pick up “Innovator of the Year” at the recent Small Firms Association (SFA) awards. The annual awards ceremony took place in the RDS, Dublin on April 13. The winning product was EcoVolt’s CeP, a 24V carbon paint heating system. The award-winning company who has already received accolades for its innovative paint heating system, most recently in Ireland’s Electrical Awards 2022, were nominated by PTSB to submit their product into the named category. This particular category was very competitive with six companies shortlisted from over 2,000 entries. EcoVolt’s entry was well received by the committee of the SFA Awards and in November of last year they were announced as finalists for the Gala Awards. The winning product EcoVolt CeP is a 24V carbon paint heating system and was designed by the company’s founder, Mr Stephen Dempsey. From design concept in 2015 to full commercialisation in 2017, the product has been sold in several countries in Europe and is unrivalled as a novel heating system for high performance buildings like passive house or nearly zero carbon buildings.

Process EcoVolt transforms a fire-rated industry standard plasterboard and applies a special electrode across a set geometry area of 1500mm by 80mm and screen prints its carbon conductive coating across the area. The coated plasterboard is then placed on a drying rack to dry

and cure. Once this process has been finished, the product is then ready for installation onto a 400mm stud partition in a vertical or horizontal position. When the product reaches site, it is installed like a plasterboard, the 24V connections are made and once all tests are performed it is ready for plastering and paint finish of any colour is given. The CeP panel is then visible on the wall and when the room thermostat calls for heat the wall quickly heats up to approximately 50 degrees and begins to radiate heat, only consuming 350 watts of power per panel. Speaking about the award, Stephen commented: “This award is special as we were competing with some amazing companies doing some fantastic work in their field on a domestic and global stage. We believe fully in this product as a complete solution to space heating for high performance buildings and it is unrivalled on the market as there is simply nothing like it.”
