ell us how and when you began your ca- reer in the profes- sion you are in: I began my career out of grad school as a temporary admin in Cushman and Wakefield’s Valuation and Advisory depart- ment. I worked my way up for ten years while building a solid foundation in commercial real estate before switching gears to investment sales at CBRE almost four years ago. What is your current posi- tion? I work as a Director in CBRE Philadelphia’s Investment Sales Group, focusing on the sale of institutional grade office buildings. What was your most no- table project, deal or trans- action in 2018? My most notable transaction of 2018 is the sale of the GSK building located in the Phila- delphia Navy Yard. The sale set a new price per square foot record for a Philadelphia office building. The building is also one of a handful of Certified Double LEED Platinum office buildings in the country. Who or what has been the strongest influence on your career? Mymother. Despite not work- ing outside of the home after I was born, she has taught me the most about the importance of hard work, perseverance and not taking ‘no’ for an answer. What were some of your early goals and did any- thing happen in you career /profession to enhance or change them? My earliest career goal was to obtain the MAI designation. It took upwards of ten years, served as the crowning achieve- ment of my appraisal career, and now further serves to dif- ferentiate me in the brokerage world. Do you feel being awoman is an advantage, disadvan- tage or no advantage in to- day’s business world? Why? Why not? I think being a woman in commercial real estate can be both a disadvantage and advan- tage at times. This dichotomy is why it’s important to be the most knowledgeable person in the room. What outside activities do you enjoy during you free time? Aside from spending my free time with my family and
