Unrestricted Endowments When donors make unrestricted gifts to the Foundation, they give us their blessing to direct the contribution where the need is the greatest at any point in time. The Foundation’s volunteer Grants Committee reviews applications twice a year and uses this funding to award grants to worthy projects.

In 2022, the Community Foundation was able to provide a $30,000 grant to the Whitley County Council on Aging and Aged for a much-needed kitchen upgrade at the Woodlands Senior Center. The funding was provided through our Greater Good Fund, an unrestricted endowment which allows our Community Foundation to direct funding where it is needed most.
